

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan with Reverend Daniel Reyes officiating. Interment will follow at Bryan City Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time.
Juan was born March 23, 1949 in Caldwell the son of David and Isabel (Narro) Duran. He was employed by Texas A&M in the grounds department for many years. After leaving Texas A&M he worked in construction for the rest of his working life.
Juan was a very conservative and humble man who lived a quiet and simple life. He loved going to his friend of 60 years Johnny Yeppez's house and having Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner with the family. He was shy and quiet but, he was always ready for a good laugh and conversation with the family members. Juan loved turkey with all the trimmings and he definitely would take a plate home for later. He loved listening to his cassettes of Mexican music and seeing Novellas on the television or on his VHS cassettes. He was one of a kind and will dearly be missed by all of his family and friends.
Juan is preceded in death by his parents, David and Isabel Duran; sister, Ahalia Duran; brothers, David Duran Jr., Felix Duran, Guadalupe Duran; half brother, Angel Duran; and half sister, Guadalupe Duran.
He is survived by his sisters, Martina Herrea and Albina Duran; brother, Jose Duran; half siblings, Susie Duran, Mary Duran, Freddy Duran, Manuel Duran, David Duran, Martin Duran, Gerardo Duran, Samuel Duran and Estabio Duran.
Pallbearers will be Alfred Alaniz, Alberto Zamarripa, Jonathan Zamarripa, Genaro Paul Gonzales, Marcos Dimas, Robert Diams, Jose Duran and Genrado Reyes.
