

On Sunday, March 13, 2011 Juanita Clary Bond, 87, of Bryan, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, March 15, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Funeral Services will be at Memorial Funeral Chapel on Wednesday March 16, at 10 a.m. with the Reverend David Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in Bryan City Cemetery. Juanita was born in Cross, Texas on July 25, 1923 to
Lillie and Nollie Morris Clary. She graduated from Iola High School and moved to Bryan shortly after. In 1944 she married Ernest F. “Nooks” Bond and lived in Bryan until her death. She was a long time member of Calvary Baptist Church. In 1974 she began her work career at Brazos County Farm Bureau, working with several agency managers over the next 29 years. She utilized her unique people skills as she provided excellent service to the members of this organization. Juanita devoted her life to taking care of her family. She was not only a mother to her children but opened her home and heart to all their friends and families. She was “Nene” to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and to all who loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son, Robert H. “Bob” Bond. Survivors include her daughters, Carolyn Oatman and her husband, John, of San Antonio; Sharon Brown Hickle and her husband, Scott, of Bryan; Phyllis Abbate and her husband, Charles, of College Station; and son, Pat Bond and his wife, Cathy, of College Station. Grandchildren are Melanie Oatman, Melissa Oatman, Bryan Brown (Betsy), Lindsay Troutman (Christopher), Elizabeth Schoeman (Hendrik), Daniel Hickle (Giada), Becky McGarr (Matthew), Robert Bradley, James Abbate (Kirsty), Clinton Abbate (Sara), Lyndsey Garrett (Adam), and Colby Bond. Great-grandchildren include Cassity, Reagan, and Abigail Brown; Lily, Asher, Summit, and Sage Troutman; Hendrik and Charlotte Schoeman; Nicholas, Olivia, and Sophia Abbate; Mark McGarr; and Cade Garrett. Other survivors are her brother N.M. “Pete” Clary, her sisters, Dorothy Siegert (Robert), and Nina Binford, brother-in-law Rueben Bond (Glenda), and numerous nieces and nephews. The family asks that
