

Lena Grace Weido, 83, of Bryan, passed away June 7, 2014 at Fortress Health & Rehab in College Station. The family will receive friends 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station, with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Bryan. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Lena was born June 5, 1931 in Brazos County, the daughter of Sam and Mary (Pomilla) Emola. She was married to Sam A. Weido for over 60 years and together owned and operated their grocery store for many years. In addition to the grocery business, Lena worked in the catalog department at Montgomery Wards, Mother’s Day Out at St. Antony Catholic Church and finally worked at Sam’s Club as a product demonstrator.
She was a lifetime member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Bryan, the St. Anthony Altar Society, the Holy Rosary Society, and Mother of Grace Society.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Sam A. Weido; three children, Beverly Milstead and her husband Charlie, Samuel Weido and his wife Tina, Karen Meekma and her husband Tim; six grandchildren, Samantha Weido, Lauren Mahle, Landon Meekma, Logan Meekma, Randa Weido, Ashley Milstead; four great grandchildren, Maddie, Shelby, Taylynn and Audrey; one sister, Nancy DeRoncey; four sisters-in-law, Janie Emola, Doris Emola, Marie Stinnett, Josephine Williamson; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank the staff at Home Instead and Lena’s caregivers, Kayron, Annette G., Annette S. and D for all their love and support.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the St. Anthony Building Fund or the American Diabetes Association.
