

Naomi Weaver Cummings, 89, passed away, May 14, 2016 at the Hospice Brazos Valley Inpatient Facility in Bryan. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, May 19th at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. A celebration of Naomi’s life is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Friday, May 20th at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Interment will follow at Rest-Ever Memorial Park in Bryan.
Naomi was born February 28, 1927, in Travis, Texas, the daughter of Rufus and Daisy Albright Weaver. Naomi was married to James D. Cummings and together they managed apartments and condominiums before their retirement. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and The Bridge Ministries. Naomi enjoyed remaining active by attending water aerobics 4 times a week at Areofit for over 25 years, she was also a dedicated member of a Thursday night ladies domino’s group. Her greatest joy was talking about and bragging about her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Naomi was preceded in death by her husband, Jim in 1988; a daughter, Mary Joyce Stevens; grandson, Steven Dano; granddaughter, Toni Cureton Wampler; and a great grandson Colton Gill.
Survivors include her two daughters, Linda C. Turner; Darlene Cureton & her husband Jerry; granddaughters, Jaime Turner, Teresa Umberger, D.J. Logan, and Jennifer Watkins; grandson, Michael Dano; great grandchildren; Jared Batten, Seth Dano, Mason Gill, Alexandria Harland, Macoy Umberger, and Mathew Umberger.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to The Bridge Ministries, 1401 W. Martin Luther King, Jr. St., Suite 201, Bryan, TX 77803 or Hospice Brazos Valley, 502 W. 26th St., Bryan, TX 77803.
