Ruby Pearl Rice

Ruby Pearl Rice, 76, of Bryan passed away April 8, 2011 at Lampstand Health and Rehab. Visitation is scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Bryan City Cemetery, with a reception to follow the interment at Northview Baptist Church on Tabor Rd.

Ruby was born November 6, 1934 in Rosebud to L.C. and Clara Young. She has been a resident of Bryan since she was a young girl where she met and married her husband, raised her family, and pursued a career in real estate. She enjoyed spending time with her family and her grandsons. She also enjoyed bowling, traveling, volleyball, and playing cards with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Coll Young, Jay Young, and Jesse Young.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years Donald Edward Rice of Bryan; daughters Kay Rice and Darlene Dehoyos both of Bryan; 5 grandsons Heath and Suzanne Pipes of Grapevine, Donny and Stacey Pipes of Katy, Clay Nabors of Odessa, Alan Nabors of Hutto, and Chas Dehoyos of Hutto; 4 great-granddaughters; 1 great-grandson; brothers Roger and Mary Young of Caldwell, Larry and Charlene Young of Bryan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
