The Lord came early Sunday Morning and took Sal Garza to his eternal place of rest. Because of his strong faith and believe in the lord he is with our king of kings. He was born August 10, 1977 to Sal and Melba Garza, of Bryan, Texas. He is survived by his children, Kelsey and Carlos Garza; parents, Sal and Melba Garza; sister, Cheri Garza Alvarado and husband Anthony Alvarado; niece and nephew, Sydni and Kane Alvarado and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Sal was a loving father, son, brother, uncle and great friend to those who knew him best. He touched a lot of hearts, was loved by many and will be greatly missed. His life was devoted to God, his children, family, friends and his love to cook and serve people. Sal was a man that would make you feel special. It didn’t matter who he was with, or what was going on, if you needed anything, he was there to do whatever it took to help.
Growing up Sal played baseball for Little League East, Bryan. He was always selected to play for the All-star team for East. His love for baseball continued on after the birth of his son, Carlos. He supported his son on and off the field to help him become a great player and teammate.
Sal was the proud owner of Garpez Mexican Restaurant for the past 13 years. He was proud when the December 2015 issue of the Texas Monthly Magazine nominated Garpez as one of the 120 places you must eat before you die, in the state of Texas. Sal was a diehard Texas A&M fan. He loved cheering for TAMU, going to the games and tailgating with all his Aggie friends. He truly enjoyed when he catered to the Aggie Football Team.
