Sandra L. Hernandez

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 30 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Interment will follow at Memorial Cemetery of College Station. Visitation will be from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Sandra was born July 23, 1953 in Laredo, Texas the daughter of Gustavo and Adela Fuentes. She worked for St. Joseph Regional Health Center in the Environmental Services for 27 years until her retirement. Sandra touched so many people with her kindness and generosity. She was always willing to lend a hand, and in the last few years of her life she was blessed in return by family and friends.

Sandra will be fondly remembered by her loved ones as a die-hard Aggies and Dallas Cowboys fan. She loved to cook and bake, you could always count on her to have freshly baked cake. Family and friends will always remember her love of life and family, but most importantly her devotion and unconditional love to her only son, Joe Hernandez.

Sandra is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe Hernandez, Sr.; and a nephew, Joel Hernandez.

Sandra is survived by her son, Joe Hernandez, Jr. and Marie Zamora of Bryan; sisters, Leticia Fuentes and Lucy Rincon both of Bryan; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rene and Reeanna Fuentes, and Ruben and Jacqueline Fuentes all of Laredo; six grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews; and close friends, Sally Guajardo and Laura Garcia.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses and St. Joseph Regional Health Care and M.D. Anderson for the care they gave to Sandra.
