9/26/1950 - 1/28/2026
It is with profound love and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of our dear friend, Sandra Oliver, who left this world peacefully, with both grit and grace on January 28, 2026. Sandra was a woman of strength, and boundless compassion. She devoted her life to rescuing the neediest animals, helping and supporting her friends, and touching the lives of everyone she knew. Her strength and determination to live her life to her fullest was an inspiration to all.
Born in Greenville, South Caroline, where she spent her early years. She then moved to California and finally settled in Texas. Her biggest passion was her horses and spending as much time riding them as she could. She competed in cutting horse competitions in California, then moved to Texas where she continued competing in barrel racing, trail riding, lessons and anything that involved riding her beloved horses.
Her second passion was rescuing animals. She was a saving angel to many dogs, cats, and horses who desperately needed help and could not help themselves. She loved people, loved her work, coworkers and clients at Dime Box Animal Clinic, loved life and made many friends. Most who talked with Sandra left with a new friend in their life.
She is survived by her son, Marvin Clarence Bishop, Jr. known by most as Sonny, and his wife, Natalie Fontenot. Sandra moved to Texas to be close to her only son, always enjoying his visits and calls.
In lieu of flowers it is Sandra's wish that you donate to the animal rescue of your choice, continuing to help the animals she so dearly loved.
