Tim was born on November 16, 1954, at Ellington Air Force Base in Texas to Patricia and Milton Muzny. He married his high school sweetheart, Jo Ann Davis, on January 10th , 1976, beginning a beautiful marriage that spanned 50 years. Together, they raised two daughters, Christen Michelle and Rebecca Ann (“Becky”), who were the pride of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Patricia and Milton Muzny; his grandparents, Christina and Pete Vitopil, and Julia and Walter Muzny; his beloved aunt and uncle, Rose and Frank Krupa; his mother- and father-in-law, Angie and Walt Davis; and his brother-in-law, Walter Davis.
Tim is survived by his devoted wife, Jo Ann Davis Muzny; his cherished daughters, Christen Michelle Amoroso and Rebecca Ann (“Becky”) Lucas, and Becky’s husband, Brian Lucas, whom Tim proudly considers his own son not just a son-in-law. His greatest joy came from his grandchildren: Marcus Anthony Muzny-Arevalo and his wife Skylar LeAnn Arevalo; Emily Grace Amoroso; Sydney Faith Amoroso; Jaxson Troy Lucas; Allie Rose Amoroso; and Parker “James” Lucas(“Bobo”).
He is also survived by his siblings: Vicki Ruffino and her husband Roland, Tina Vanderwater, and Brian Muzny and his wife Arie; along with numerous in-laws including Patti and Alan Rein, Bill and Gina Davis, Cheryl Davis, and Linda Davis, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Tim devoted 50 years to the job he loved at Readfield Meats & Deli. While many knew him as a butcher, Tim preferred the title “Purveyor of Fine Meats.” Over the years, he built lasting friendships with his customers, who trusted him not only for the finest cuts but also for his expert advice on seasoning and cooking. A true master of the grill, Tim was especially known for his incredible fajitas. Many believed he should have owned a restaurant.
Tim loved to hunt and fish in his younger years. He passed on his love for fishing to his daughters and grandchildren. But his biggest joy once the girls and grandkids came was being right in the middle of their activities. From sitting in auditoriums watching dance recitals, to family meals, teaching them to fish, garden and make pickles. Traveling to soccer games, gymnastics meets, watching cheer, football games, baseball, softball, every awards ceremony and school event. He was and will continue to be their biggest fan.
Tim also loved to travel and explored many places around the world. His favorite destination was Las Vegas, where he enjoyed both the excitement of gambling and trying new restaurants. In recent years, he developed a love for cruising—living by the motto, “Have scooter, will travel.”
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 28th, 2026, at Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1515 South College Avenue, Bryan, Texas, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm, with a rosary recited at 6:30pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday April 8th, 2026, at 1:00pm, with interment to follow at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 2801 Old Kurten Road, Bryan, Texas.
Jo Ann, Christen, Becky and their family extend their heartfelt gratitude to BFD, the doctors and staff at St. Joseph's Hospital who fought so hard for him, Dr. Erin Fleener and the staff at Brazos Valley Cancer Center, the infusion nurses Janelle and Crystal at St. Joseph Hospital, and all the doctors and nurses who provided compassionate care over the past six years here locally, as well as in Austin and Houston.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MDS Foundation (mds-foundation.org) or the American Cancer Society.
Tim will be remembered for his deep love of family, his generosity, and the countless lives he touched through his work and friendships. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
