

Victoria Wanda Braczek Spell, formerly of Bryan, died at Medical City Hospital in Dallas, Texas on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at age 93. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan, followed by a Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 12 Noon at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan, with Reverend Monsignor John McCaffrey officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Spell was born in Bryan, Texas to Veronica Kosh
Braczek and Frank Braczek on November 11, 1918. She was a Catholic and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, as well as a graduate from St. Joseph School. Mrs. Spell was married to Preston H. Spell on November 8, 1938 at St. Joseph Catholic Church by Monsignor Tim Valenta. They had one daughter, Patricia Ann Spell. Victoria was a member of the K.J.Z.T. St. Elizabeth Society, the Holy Rosary Society and the Legion of Mary. She worked for Ayers Cleaners as a seamstress for several years and for Holicks M.F.G. Co., of College Station for 27 years, sewing boot covers for the senior Aggies’ boots
made by Holicks. Mrs. Spell lived in Bryan most of her life. She is preceded in death by her husband of 23 years, Dr. Preston Spell and daughter, Patricia Ann Spell House. Survivors include four grandchildren, Brent Stewart of Lafayette, La., Dawn Stewart Jones and her husband Mike Jones of Dallas, Texas, Jan Stewart Bino and her husband Richard Bino of Bossier City, La., and Dean Stewart and his wife Misty Stewart of Spearfish, S.D.; seven greatgrandchildren, Marcus and Brooke Stewart, Mario Bino, Tristan Stewart, Gavin Stewart, Demi Stewart, and Corbin Stewart; one sister, Ann Barta of Dallas, Texas; along with a number of nieces and nephews. Memorials can be made to St. Joseph School and St. Joseph Catholic Church.
