Roger was born in San Diego, California on August 6, 1944. He was an Army Veteran and is survived by his sister Donna DeMarcus with brother-in-law Ron DeMarcus, his daughter Amy Knight with son-in-law Jeremy Knight, his son Matt Knippel with daughter-in-law Amy Ray, his grandsons Owen and Wyatt Knippel and his partner in life and love, Michelle Dilldine, along with many other caring and devoted family members and friends.
Roger grew up in San Diego, California and attended Kearny High School. He spent the majority of his life living throughout California and resided for most of his adulthood in Oxnard as the business owner of Anacapa Surveyors. Roger chose his career as a Land Surveyor in the early 1970s. He embraced that line of work throughout the remainder of his career and was outstanding in the field. A few years before retiring, he purchased a home in Bullhead City where he enjoyed his days discovering uncharted desert paths with his devoted dog Bodie, evening cocktails under colorful sunsets, and the calming flow of the Colorado River.
Roger was an enthusiast of many things including music, nature and the outdoors, and fly-fishing. He was drawn to adventure and the road less traveled. Roger could always be counted on for a handshake and heartfelt conversation. His enthusiasm to embrace life and all its liberties was evident in everything he did. He will be sorely missed by many.
Details of celebration of life services to be provided at a later date.
