Jerome “Jerry” Lee Stebbins was born on May 14, 1938 in Dayton, Ohio. In later years, he lived in Tucson, Arizona. After he had joined the Navy, he met Mary Lou Collins and they were married on January 24, 1959 at All Saints Church in Denver, Colorado. They had 3 children-(son) Christopher, (son) Michael & (daughter) Lisa. They were blessed with 2 grandchildren-Adam & Jeffrey. They lived in Westminster, California for 43 years before retiring to Bullhead City, Arizona in 2000 where Lisa and her son Jeffrey reside. Mary Lou preceded Jerry in death on March 3, 2010.
Jerry certainly had a good sense of humor. You could always count on a playful, jokingly, sarcastic remark in any given situation. But… they always made you laugh. When he wasn’t working on one of his own cars, he was helping a neighbor fix their car.
Jerry enjoyed his backyard horseshoe pits where all the neighborhood men would congregate. He had an outgoing personality and enjoyed it when everyone was having a good time. He also enjoyed gambling at the casinos in Laughlin, Nevada.
Jerry was a member of the Elks Lodge and also the Knights of Columbus. He was deep in his faith throughout his life. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church for 43 years and St. Margaret Mary's for 10 years. His favorite vacations included family trips to Colorado, the Grand Canyon, Texas, and Hawaii in 1998.
Jerry loved his pets. One of his favorites was Penny - Shar pei Lab mix (mutt). They were inseparable for 9 years. Other pets included: Pierre (poodle), and Brandy (pit bull mix).
Jerry passed away on April 21, 2012 at home in Bullhead City, Arizona of a heart attack. Penny was at his side. He is survived by his children Chris, Mike & Lisa and grandchildren Adam & Jeffrey.
Services were held at Blessed Sacrament Church in Westminster, California. He was laid to rest and once again joined with his precious Mary Lou at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Orange, California. He will be greatly missed.
