I can't believe its been almost a year. Not a day goes by that I don't think of you.

My Uncle Mario,
 I was pulled into a dark gloomy room and told in the coldest of words, that my uncle has passed.  It broke my heart to hear of his passing, I was righteously dumb founded, because in heart and in my eyes my uncle Mario was "INVINCEBLE". My whole world came tumbling down upon me. I dont know what do or how to act, but let the tears run down my face as they are right now. I have yet the oppurtunity to even mourn. Nobody really knows how tight I was with my uncle, he was like a big brother more than an uncle to me. He was much older but never the  less equal on every page. He was my "dog" to the end, like right now! Trying hard to convey here how much I truley love Uncle Mario, but if the truth be told mear words can never even come close to describing my love and respect that I will have for him through out eternity. I went to see the chaplin and out of all things that he said, one thing stuck to my heart: "You know that your uncle is in heaven right now looking down at you all and wanting you to carry on with your lives and get closer to God". I know my uncles heart was solid and pure and genuinely blessed to a point that our lord righteously needed him for something up in heaven, so he took him from us with intentions of making him an angel to watch over all of us and bless us with his presence in just another fashion. Now instead of working on getting him approved to come visit me in this visiting room, now its all about him visiting me in this very special place in my heart where he will forever reside, until the time comes for me to join him up there in heaven.  I dont know what we will do up there, because I dont know "the get down" in heaven is, but I am sure he will have the whole place figured out and know whats going on. He will have a special little party ready to throw down in my honor. I miss him so much but we will all see him again one day.

 Wherever you are right now Unc, up on a cloud or chasing some angels with a nice set of wings, know in your heart Bro-that I love you Unc more than I can ever express. You are such an important part of my life. Dont trip I'll come rolling up in tractor and make it there on one tank of gas. I love you dog. Give me a sign that your with me.

One of the greatest men I have ever known. Wish I could have had more time to learn from you though I am grateful for the time we did share. Mario is the love of my life. My one and only husband. Please remember children of our's I loved him first. My "oh so handsom" prince in shining Cadillack. Mario rescued me from a life of lonleyness & emptyness. 
  Mario filled me with love & gave me the gift of "Familia" In his arm's only was I safe & content to be alive. Thank you Mario for giving me perpose. A house of my own to nest in and build on. Our babies came fast and all conceived in love. You were all welcomed by us both with open arms. I remember him as an expert at bunting our newborns in recieving blanket's. Then tucking you all under my arm's for the 2:00am feedings, before he left home early for work. Dad worked hard at any and all cost to provide for his family. And he played hard. Mario was a hands on dad, always eagar to roll on the floor with the kids after work. We had backyard bbqs in the middle of the week. We would ride to the park on weekends and meet up with family to share and celebrate life. He made everyday happy for us.
  So much, my heart goes out for our children and grand children. You are experiencing the sudden loss of a great man I know you all loved and honor. I myself have been morning his loss since 1994, the year we divorced. I was left to live in this world with out Mario by my side or on my side. Never to be captured again on this earth, anyway. I myself cant wait to meet up with him again, in heaven so we can start fresh. Free of any remorse or human quilt. Only our love for each other. That will endore time, forever and ever.

Mario: an amazing father and a man who never judged! Took you in as if you were one of his own. Never had a bad thing to say about anyone and was always smiling. If you were in his prescense, you were smiling. Someone who lived and lived to the fullest. Always happy and always proud of his children and grandchildren. The love he had for people was the kind of love we hardly see anymore in this world. Definately a one of a kind and will greatly be missed by many. Your family had a great man, and now they have another great angel over them!!!

The first time I met Mario my Brother-in-law to be... I was 12years old in Norwalk California at Bobs Big Boy resteraunt. My sister Terry had met her prince charming and wanted my mother and I to meet him. We knew she met someone special because she went out with him and never came back home. Few years later Mario took me to my very 1st concert ever! Rod Stewart! Great seats too i think 9th row back, we had a blast! I'll never forget the great time's we all had together! And of course most important of all he gave me the best Niece's & Newphew ever! Gina (the Bonger) Angela (Moonie) and Lil Mario Jr. Just wanted to say Thank you Mario for all the treasure you left behind. Your love & spirt will live on threw your children...
   Although there is alot of sorrow in our family's. Heart of your passing you will be greatly missed. I have piece and joy in my spirt because I know you are a believer in our lord Jesus Christ. And when all is said and done That will be the only thing that matters.
    So all in christ who have already gone before us I take great comfort in knowing we will all one day be together again! For you are and always be my brother in christ. Love Gerry

Uncle Mario you are a great dad and the most loving grandpa. You have such a great sence of homor making everyone laugh. I always remember going with Gina to your house every summer, eating good food at your dinner table. So glad to have just seen you at Isabellas 8th birthday party swimming having a blast. You could not believe how big my daughter Elianna was! Since you last seen her at 3months she was now 4years old it was funny:)   Love Always Briana

I miss you so much!! I am always thinking about you!! I sometimes feel like your still with me. I want to be so angry at you for leaving because I feel like I still need you, I still need your help with growing up! I had a tough time at home when I was in high school.  You let me spend the night 3 or 4 times a week.  I ate your food and made the house noisy.  You never minded.  Once, sitting at the dinner table you turned a piece of meat into a Silence of the Lambs impersonation.  We laughed and joked for a long time.  You taught me that family could be fun.  Thank you for buffet tickets and time by the Edgewater pool.  You raised fabulous children and will be missed!

Dear Papa,
Even though I was only able to have you in my life for a little over 3 years, you were more of a Father to me than my own. I can't express how much it meant to me that you treated me like one of your own daughters and how much I appreciated the love you gave to my husband and child. To My Little Bubby,

I will love you and miss you forever. I have been your protector all your life, but this time I wasnt there to protect you. I miss your phone calls every Saturday and Sunday at 6 am-I miss smoking and having coffee with you. I miss your night time calls to find out about the kids and Gina. When you didnt hear from little Mario you would call to see if I did. I cant believe you left me without even a warning. You just left me. Its so hard to be without you. I think of you every day. Its just not fair. You were going to take care of me, now what? I KNOW I will never get over this. I am a very broken women. My heart hurts every day for you. You were my brother but more like a son ever since you were just a little boy. As you got older you became my best friend. We were able to talk about everything. I miss that so much. I am so lost without you. I listen that 50's CD you bought me last time you were here, and the stuffed frog you got me at Dana Point with our favorite song that he sings. I cant hardly bare to listen to it anymore. I miss you so much, please keep a place for me,  until then I will see you in my dreams.

Mario, you were always someone I looked up to. You had a genuine concern for your fellow man. Thank you for allowing me into your family. I hope I made you proud, as I was proud to be your son in law.

There is so much that you can say about how amazing and great this man was...To Honor” that was the start of Papa Mario’s favorite toast. I remember when I told him that for the first time. He enjoyed it so much that he took it to his son’s wedding and used it in his own context. But today is TRULY “To Honor”. To honor a great man that accepted a non blood kid into his life as if I was his...He reinforced the idea of how life on earth should be: To take care of one another. His legacy lives in everyone of us..That, to me, is the eternal life that was promised to all of us.. Papa Mario, I Love you.

Dad, you will always be close to my heart. You where my best freind and a great person to be around. Anyone who really knew you more than likely loved to be in your company. "I am what I am", is your quote you lived by and who you where was "a man amongst men, here or anywhere you choose to lay your hat.
