James Francis Finn

November 25, 1939 to September 21, 2015

Jim was born in Brooklyn NY to Edna Cecilia and Francis Joseph Finn. He is survived by two sisters; Felicia and Mickey. After enlisting in the United States Marine Corp, he spent four years serving his country before marrying Madeline Carol Lombardi on June 13, 1964. Their wedding took place at St. Sylvester’s, the neighborhood Catholic Church in Brooklyn, NY where they both attended grade school. The following year, they had their first child Kelly the subsequent years brought Christopher, Scott and Brian. It was then 15 years later when they celebrated the arrival of their final child Matthew.

Jim was a very loving individual, he was kind to everyone he met, and never did wrong by anyone. He loved each of his family members unconditionally, loved to dance, sing and eat chocolate of any kind but mostly chocolate cake and chocolate ice-cream. Jim was always there for his kids when they needed him and he went out of his way to make his grandchildren happy every time they visited. He was a great man and a friend to many.

Jim worked very hard to support his family. At the age of 65 Jim and Madeline moved to Las Vegas, NV to live out their retirement years. A lifestyle that consisted of many buffets, Vegas shows, some light gambling fun and sightseeing trips. One of their favorite vacation destinations was back to California to visit the kids and grandkids.

Jim and Madeline, a very spiritual couple, attended Catholic Church each week and every holy day no matter where they were or where they lived. However, they not only attended church, they were very involved in the church. They were among some of the original founders of Marriage Encounter with the Catholic Church they attended in Colorado and served the church and community as Eucharistic Ministers.

After almost 50 years of marriage, Madeline passed away in March of 2014.

Jim is survived by his 5 children:

Kelly Murtha – lives in Burbank CA.

Christopher Finn – lives in Bakersfield CA.

Scott Finn – lives in Long Beach CA.

Brian Finn – lives in Wilmington DE.

Matthew Finn – lives in Las Vegas NV.

Four grandchildren: Ashleigh, Allsun, Diane and Nicole and Clayton his great-grandson. Princess, Christopher, Penelope and Delilia were like grandchildren to Jim and Madeline.
