Nathan (Nate) Resnick, 98, passed away in Los Angeles on November 4, 2022. Nate is survived by his wife of 68 years, Shirley; his son, Rick; and his two grandsons, Tyler and Ben.
Nate was a sweet man who was kind to everyone he met. He was always quick with a smile and took a sincere interest in the activities and accomplishments of those around him.
Nate proudly served in the US Navy during World War II. He was stationed aboard an LST 511 in the Atlantic and was involved in both Exercise Tiger and D-Day on the beaches of Normandy. Nate kept active with a number of Navy veterans’ groups and reunions. After his Navy service, Nate returned home, met Shirley and learned a trade as an Electronics Technician. He and Shirley lived in a number of cities in the US, Canada and Australia before settling in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles in the early 1960’s. Nate enjoyed the horse races, traveling, time with his extended family and any kind of ballgame.
His love and kindness will be missed.
Services will be held at the Riverside National Cemetery on Wednesday, November 16th at 12:30PM. Donations can be made in the name of Nathan Resnick to USS LST National Ship Memorial at: https://www.lstmemorial.org/donate
