A friend and a farther figure to all Peter F. Silveira was born on January 29, 1927. Peter was the eldest son of Antonio and Rosa Silveira. He was raised in GOA where at an early age his selfless determination was evident. Upon the passing of his father he was thrust into the role as provider. Those that knew Peter always knew he was a man of faith and could always be depended upon. This trait became his staple in life and his eyes and smile were magnetic beyond words.
In his adult years his passion for success was evident as he moved to East Africa in search of a career. He was hired by Gestetner Corporation and was employed by them for over thirty years. In East Africa his life would forever be changed with the introduction to Elvira the two would be married for fifty two years. They were the love of each other’s lives and soon a family of their own became a reality. They raised their five children Steve, Chris, Gina, Carmen and Savio with love and always the best intentions. In the best interest of their children they moved to the United States in 1971, settling in Burbank, CA. This transition would be difficult for anyone but with a strong family bond like theirs the family thrived. To this day the children often express their gratitude for the sacrifice Peter and Elvira made to create a better life for all Silveira generations to come. As the family grew and the roles changed the pair were perfectly suited to be the grandparents of nine grandchildren. After the passing of Elvira, he continued his role of “Grandpa” and even on his final days on earth left a lasting impression on all those close to him. His love and passion for life was and always will be everlasting.
We want to thank all of you for the love, friendship and support you have given our family. There will be a gathering following the interment at Amigos Restaurant 2825 W. Olive Ave., Burbank, CA, 91505
