Alex Leitch

In 2002, Alex had courageously overcome a stroke and in more recent years had been putting up a determined effort with cancer.

He was predeceased by his father, William and his mother, Margaret. Alex is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Beverly; his children, Bradley (Mil) and Denny (Jacquie); his cherished grandchildren - Joseph, Kaitlin, Kyla; and Travis; his sister, Donna (Larry); his brother-in-law Larry (Wende) and nieces and nephews - Tracy, Melanie, Scott and Keith. He will be lovingly remembered by them all.

Alex was a devoted husband and father. As a great problem solver he made himself available to all his many friends and family to offer guidance and assistance to anyone that required him.

He launched his own business in 1986 and quickly the family joined in to assist and learn from the ground up in the office supply/printing business where they all worked for many years until the sale of the company.

He loved his time at the lake in Osoyoos this past dozen years where he forged many new friendships and spent untold precious time with his lucky grandchildren and the many family and friends that came to visit.

There were lengthy annual trips to Maui with the love of his life, Bev, and in later years with his children and grandchildren to enjoy countless hours on the beach relaxing, playing and creating more family memories. He always said "I know it's not paradise, but it's so damn close."

He loved music and was a talented musician playing piano and saxophone for twenty some years in a band, and then just for sheer enjoyment. He also enjoyed watching soccer where he supported his sons and was very well known by the Tri City soccer community.

Alex was a good man - respected and loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Some days are just hard - but there is hope in tomorrow.

A celebration of his life will be held October 19, 2018 at 4:30 pm at Old Orchard Hall, 646 Bentley Road (Bentley and Ioco Road), Port Moody.
