It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Long time resident of South Burnaby, Alf passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the age of 92 after a long struggle with Alzheimer's. He is predeceased by his son Bill, wife Mary (Snooks), and special friend Rosie Gagnon. Alf was the youngest of 4 children growing up in the small prairie town of MacLeod, Alberta during the depression, and later served in WWII. He joined the CN Railway - later Via Rail, travelling across Canada for 30 years. He and his wife Mary were wed in 1951 and moved to BC in the mid 50's. He is survived by: daughters Marilyn(Gary), Karen(Rick); sons John and Bob(Karen); grandchildren Tina, Brian, Niki, Sarah, Kristy, Brandi, Darcy, Jason, Ryan, and John; and great grandchildren Brodey, Brayden, Brennen, Bridger, Madison, Dakota, Georgia, and Averi. With seeds already planted to continue his legacy. We were blessed to have an amazing father who will be greatly missed. A service will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby on August 6th, at 1:00pm.
