

Alfredo Faria Felix born January 26, 1935 in Serra de Santo António, Portugal, passed away under the light of the Hunter’s Moon in the early hours of November 1, 2020. He was predeceased by his son Steve, parents Prudencio and Maria, brother Luís, sister Ida and brother-in-law Jack. Alfredo is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Carmen, son Norm, daughters-in law Valerie and Bobbie-Jo, and grandchildren Jessica, Jeremy, Jeffrey and Jeannine. He is also survived by siblings Bino (Lou), Mary (George), John (Maria Olimpia), as well as additional family members Fernando, Blanca, Tika, Doris (Rich), Nicole, Kristen (Andy) and many much-loved nieces and nephews.
Alfredo had a varied career after arriving in Canada in the mid-1950s, first as a cement mason, contributing to projects such as the original Port Mann Bridge, the SFU Burnaby Campus and the Bayshore Inn tower, then as a drywall finisher. He later became a restaurateur at Bino’s on Kingsway and Joyce, where he was the first boss to many young hires and new Canadians, offering guidance, mentorship and lifelong friendship. Alfredo’s true vocation and calling was that of an avid outdoorsman and inventor. He took every opportunity to explore BC’s hunting and fresh/saltwater fishing opportunities with family and friends and build unique inventions in support of his outdoor activities.
