

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear aunt, Bette Lum on January 24, 2026 at age 91 surrounded by love. She was born in Nanaimo and moved to Vancouver with her family when she was 8 years old. She is now eternally reunited with Victor, her loving husband of 69 years. All 6 siblings, Quen, George, John, Bill, Evelyn and Sam predeceased her. Her large family was very close.
Lovingly remembered and cherished by many nephews, nieces, and grandnephews, grandnieces and dear friends. Bette worked many decades as a bookkeeper for accountant Paul Preiswerck and had a very fulfilling career. Victor and Bette spent many years travelling abroad usually with friends and often on cruises. They had a wide circle of close friends.
She has been described by family members as deeply loyal, independent, intelligent, strong willed, energetic, vibrant, resilient, fit, athletic and very fashionable. She was very healthy and active most of her life. We will remember her beautiful smile, cheerfulness and warmth.
Rest in peace dear Aunty Bette. We will love you always.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday klioMarch 28th, 2026 at 1:00pm at the chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home. It will be followed by a chairside inurnment.
