Lee-Yuen, Betty Siu-Ying January 5, 1922 - November 14, 2019
With sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of our mother Betty Siu-Ying Lee-Yuen, at Fellburn Care Centre, Burnaby, British Columbia, surrounded by family. She was 97.
Mom was born in the city of Taishan, Guangdong province, China. She is predeceased by our father Cheong Yuen in 1981. She is survived by her children, Pat (Steve), Bernard, Carrie (Raymond); grandchildren Ken, Val (Kit), Kaye, Johanne (Quan) & Andrew; and great-grandchildren Kieran, Marcus & Madison.
Mom was a kind, generous and giving person to everybody she met. She was a loving wife and mother, and a great sister to our aunt Salina. She was a dedicated partner to our father, a wonderful cook, and enjoyed singing and listening to music. She also excelled in handicrafts. She will be dearly missed.
A heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff at Fellburn for their constant care in the last 5 years.
There will be a Celebration of Life for mom on Monday, December 23rd, 2019, 1 p.m. at the Ocean View Funeral Home, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby in the Chapel Courtyard. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada would be appreciated.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.OceanViewFuneral.com

Hey Ying Guo,
Its sad to hear your passing !
I carry a smile every time I hear you talk about the old village life in China, how my father teach you how to bike, how you all play in the rain , its sound like good times !
I need to thank you for helping me to settle down in Bonham Rd after I finish school from Canada. Teaching us how to deal with our newborn ,and just show up to have dinner with us.
You make my world that much better !
We all have to go sometime, I’ll see you when it comes and have a good chat then!

Thanks Aunt Betty for taken care of me during my childhood. I can remember clearly all the times and moments you had spent with me and I can remember places you and grand mom took me to. Your voices and images still around like yesterday. Your care and kindness will just stay in my heart forever.

A lovely tribute to a beautiful lady. Betty introduced us to durian and harvest moon cake; experiences we will never forget! The coffee mugs she gave us are still used for special occasions and remind us of times spent together. Love Jennifer and Tom

Betty was always radiated warmth, style, and interest in her fellow human beings. We enjoyed the social occasions and visits we were able to spend with her, and we'll always remember her lovely smile. We're thinking of her entire family at this sad time.

I will always remember Betty as a smiling, happy lady when I would see her at Fellburn.
I never really got to converse with her directly, but I got to know a bit about her through her daughter Carrie and son in law Raymond.
As the saying goes, “the apple doesn’t fall too far from the tree” and knowing how wonderful Carrie is , Betty must have been a fabulous woman.
Sending all of my heartfelt condolences to all of the family.
Sincerely Julie and all of my family.
