Beverley was born on August 10, 1937, in Vancouver, British Columbia, passed away surrounded by the love of her family. Beverley lived a life defined by devotion—devotion to her faith, her family, her home, and the simple, beautiful things that brought her joy.
Faith was an anchor throughout Beverley’s life. It shaped her values, her kindness, and the gentle way she cared for others. She found great joy in being part of her church community and especially loved singing in the choir, where her voice joined others in the hymns she cherished.
A dedicated homemaker, Beverley created warm, welcoming homes wherever she lived. She moved often throughout her life, always choosing to be close to her children and grandchildren. Her presence brought love to all who knew her. Her home was filled with the comfort of her baking – fresh bread, cookies and treats that became treasured family memories.
Beverley was a natural caregiver, offering compassion effortlessly to those she loved. She was instrumental in providing end of life care for her parents, Albert and Lillian Vaughan, her beloved husband and father of her children, Leonard William Readhead, for her son David Readhead and for her second husband, whom she also lovingly cared for in his final days. Her strength, tenderness, and unwavering dedication during these difficult times remain a defining part of her legacy.
She also embraced the small joys that made life sweet. Beverley loved tending to her garden, nurturing flowers and creating peaceful, colourful spaces that reflected her gentle heart. She enjoyed an occasional glass of wine—best shared in good company, with conversation, laughter, and the warmth of family around her.
Beverley is lovingly remembered by her children Cheryl Parsons (John), Leonard Readhead Jr. (Margaret), Judy Antunes (Mario), and Lisa Toby (Dave)
She was blessed with ten grandchildren—Michelle, Jeff, Gord, Matt, Dan, Courtney, Mark, Melissa, Chelsea, and Brandon—and eighteen great grandchildren, each bringing her immeasurable joy.
Beverley will be remembered for her compassionate spirit, her deep faith, her unwavering love for her family, and the kindness she shared so freely. Her legacy lives on in her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and all whose lives were touched by her presence.
A graveside (only) service for Beverley will be held on April 17, 2026 at 2:45 pm at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Psalm 23:
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
