Billie Hennessey

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Olive '˜Billie' Hennessey. She was a mother, wife, grandmother and dog lover. She was a strong and willful woman. She was petite but had the courage and determination of a thousand men. Billie was passionate and fiery. She led a life that intertwined adventure, love, sorrow and happiness. Her adventures began at an early age in India where her father managed a tea plantation and then at the age of 6 traveled to Scotland where her boarding school days began. Billie told wondrous tales of her mischievous school days, surviving the war, marrying and starting a family and eventually becoming a grandmother and great-grandmother. Billie had a love for animals, especially her canine furry friends. She volunteered at the SPCA and adopted many different cats and dogs over the years. Billie was extermely close to her children Katrina Marciano and Wayne Ridgeway. She was also a supportive, understanding and wise grandmother. She was a confidant to Alissia and Philippe Marciano. Her son-in-law Antonio Marciano was truly like a second son. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten as her legacy and memory will live on forever in her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A public visitation will be held from 12:30-2:30pm on Monday, December 15, 2014 at Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel 4276 Hastings Street, Burnaby, BC. In Lieu of flowers donations to the Humane Society of BC or a charity of your choice. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.bellburnaby.com
