Charlotte Elena Newton

Charlotte Newton, nee Barro passed away Saturday, June 12th at the age of 90 years. She is predeceased by her sisters Angie, Sunny, and Annie. She is survived by her loving family, husband Len, sister Mary Zanatta, and numerous nieces, nephews and family. Born in 1926 and raised in East Vancouver, she is survived by the love of her life Len; having spent 50+ years together. Always organized, always enjoying new things, from fishing with Len, a glass of scotch or cooking for family, she will be missed by all. Growing up in Strathcona, she enjoyed a great life from her beloved Falcon to her new Fiat 500. She loved driving and loved her independence. She taught those qualities to all of us kids; from Triumph St. to Frances St. to the Great Grandchildren of today; all flocked to her smile and her patience. Zia Totta will never be forgotten. Visitation and Prayers will be held at 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 16th at Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel, 4276 Hastings St. Burnaby, B.C. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 17th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke's Parish 20285 Dewdney Trunk Rd, Maple Ridge, B.C. Reception will follow at St. Luke's Parish Hall. Interment will follow at Ocean View Burial Park, Heaven's Gate, Burnaby, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
