

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Chico Tam, who left us on June 24th, 2023. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a cherished grandfather, and a dear friend to many. His departure leaves a void in our lives that can never be filled, but his memory will forever remain in our hearts.
Born on November 23rd, 1944, Chico Tam was a remarkable individual who lived a life full of purpose and passion. He was born and raised in Hong Kong, and immigrated to Vancouver, Canada in 1976, where he developed a strong sense of integrity, compassion, and resilience that would guide him throughout his life.
Chico Tam was a loving and devoted husband to Lucia Tam, his beloved wife of 50 years. Their bond was a shining example of love, loyalty, and commitment, and their unwavering support for each other was an inspiration to all who knew them.
As a father, Chico Tam was a constant source of love, guidance, and encouragement. He was always there for his children, offering wisdom and support during both triumphs and challenges. His unconditional love and unwavering belief in their abilities helped shape them into the successful individuals they are today.
Chico Tam had a fulfilling career as an Accounting professional and a restaurateur where he made significant contributions to his field. His dedication, expertise, and strong work ethic earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues. He approached every task with enthusiasm and a commitment to excellence, leaving an indelible mark on his profession.
Beyond his professional achievements, Chico Tam was a man of many interests and passions. He had an insatiable curiosity for the world around him and was always eager to learn something new. Whether it was watching sports, visiting his local casino, or spending quality time with his friends & family, he embraced life to the fullest.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Chico Tam will remember him for his warm smile, his infectious laughter, and his genuine kindness. He had a remarkable ability to connect with others and make them feel valued and appreciated. He was a trusted friend, a patient listener, and a source of comfort during difficult times.
In his free time, Chico Tam enjoyed spending time with friends, practicing tai chi, following sports, and eating dim sum. These activities brought him immense joy and allowed him to express his creativity and passion. He leaves behind a legacy of perseverance, dedication, and the importance of pursuing one's dreams.
Chico Tam is survived by his loving wife, Lucia Tam his children Roy Tam (Cathy) and Gary Tam, his grandchildren Brayden, Ariel, and Avery Tam, and a host of other relatives and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
While we mourn the loss of Chico Tam, we take solace in the knowledge that his spirit will live on in our hearts and in the countless lives he touched. We will honor his memory by carrying forward the values and lessons he imparted to us, striving to make the world a better place, just as he did.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Chico Tam will be held on July 6th, 2023 at St. Paul Parish at 8251 St. Albans Road, Richmond.
