Crescenzo DiCamillo

Crescenzo (Chris) DiCamillo was born on May 9, 1926, in Cervaro, Italy. He passed away peacefully on August 4, 2023, at the age of 97 while residing in his Long-Term Care Home in Vancouver, BC. He was predeceased by his wife, Giuseppina and is survived by his loving family, two daughters Filomena & Maria (Gene) and granddaughter Quinn.

Chris was very community orientated, helpful, friendly and will be remembered for being a generous man who loved to share his knowledge of gardening with all his neighbours and anyone who passed by his home. Chris lived in East Vancouver for 55 years and had a passion for gardening and cultivating fruit trees. He worked diligently in his urban city garden, growing all kinds of fruits and vegetables which provided him great pleasure. The green lawn gradually disappeared as he turned his landscaped yard into a hobby farm, which included chickens. The forest of trees surrounding his property would eventually hide his home from view. Chris will always be in our memories as one of the icons of the neighbourhood. He will be greatly missed and will live forever in our hearts! We would like to thank all the care staff at Villa Carital for their compassion and support.

A viewing will be held Wednesday, August 16, 2023, 6:00 – 8:00PM at Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel, 4276 Hastings St, Burnaby. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at 10:00AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 555 Slocan St, Vancouver, BC. Entombment to follow at the Abby Mausoleum, Ocean View Burial Park, 4000 Imperial, Burnaby, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of BC.
