Mr. Dan Hoy Gin

It is with heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dan Hoy Gin, with all his family by his side, on Wednesday November 30th, 2016, at the age of 82. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kim Gin; his son, Howard and his wife Michelle; his first daughter Karen and her husband Terry, his second daughter Gail and her husband Jeff; three grandchildren Chloe, Reed, and Jordan; and his relatives.

One of 4 brothers and sisters, Dan grew up in China and moved to Canada in 1950. After Dan and Kim married in 1968, they lived in different cities in Canada before settling down in Vancouver where Dan started his own business and together they raised their three children.

Dan is fondly remembered as a kind, loving, and jovial son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. Dan had a love for gardening, dining out, staying current, and watching hockey. His other passions included traveling with his wife and running his businesses. The memories of Dan will always be cherished and he will be forever in our hearts. Dan's selfless generosity will be missed by all.

A celebration of life will be held on December 13, 2016 at 1:00 pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby, BC. An electronic message of condolence may be left in the space provided below.
