David Sze-Kwong Chiu

Our Beloved David of Vancouver, BC past away November 6th 2023 after living with Alzheimer’s for several years. He is survived by his wife, Connie and his ex-wife, Ellen, mother of his children: Phillip (Sophia), Christina, and Patrick (Angela). He is also survived by his Grandchildren: Michael (McKinlay), Gabriel, Charmaine, and Christopher and one great-grandchild, Adeline. He is also survived by his younger siblings, Johnny and Helena, of Hong Kong.

It is with sadness that David lived with Alzheimer’s in the last few years of his life, but will be held in the memory of all those who knew and loved him, for his cheerfulness, enjoyment of food, music and sense of humour.

David was born in Hong Kong in 1933. After being the Unit Supervisor for Manufacturer’s Life Insurance in Hong Kong, David came to Canada in 1968. His children will remember his hardworking nature and how he overcame the immigrant experience of first having to work three jobs until he got his break into Pharmaceutical Sales through his perseverance. In David’s many professional pursuits, David had also been a Realtor and a General Sales Manager of Western Canada for a Pharmaceutical Company. David was known and awarded for his many hours of excellent dedicated, diligent customer service, managerial skills and hard work.

A Visitation and Viewing will be at Ocean View Funeral Home – 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby on Sunday, November 19th, 2023 from 7-9 pm. Private funeral at his request.

In his memory, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society in lieu of flowers.
