Diane Lee Walker

Diane was born on May 17, 1940 in Vancouver and passed peacefully on July 27, 2025 at the age of 85. Diane grew up in Vancouver attending McKenzie Elementary, John Oliver and North Vancouver High Schools. She is survived by her loving children Laurie Walker, Diane Russell and David Walker (Elaine); her brothers Jim (Irene) McCorkindale and Neil (Ki) McCorkindale; and her nine cherished grandchildren – Cassandra, Trevor, Cole, Gillian, Jacqueline, Cheralyn, Jennifer, Brian and Matthew. She also leaves many other family members and friends who sadly miss her.

Diane worked proudly for forestry companies Crown Zellerbach, Fletcher Challenge and Weldwood through the years. Upon retiring in 1995 she moved from Vancouver to Coquitlam and was an active member of the Dogwood Garden Club for many years. Her passion was always her family and her beautiful flower garden. She travelled to the Maritimes, all over the United Kingdom, Paris, Italy and Alaska along with frequent visits to Saskatoon to visit David’s family. She especially enjoyed family gatherings including many McCorkindale reunions and delighted in large holiday and birthday get-togethers.

A memorial service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday August 22 at Ocean View Funeral Home, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby.
