She is survived by her loving husband Joe Ferrara; her sister Eva (Jon); her sister Yvonne (Ed); her brother Larry; and her nieces and nephew, Meela, Jessica, and Alex.
She was raised on the Musqueam Reservation for the first years of her life. At the age of five, her family secured a farm on the Fraser River flats in Burnaby. She grew up working on the land after school throughout the year and during the summer.
She felt blessed to be able to have a career in which she felt purposeful, fulfilled, and true to herself. She loved her career in the Food and Hospitality Industry; Marketing and Communications; and Immigrant Settlement.
She had many friends who loved her. And she loved them in return. She was a wonderful hostess who delighted in gathering her friends for dinner, games nights, horror movie nights, karaoke, and Oscars.
She loved to cook and plan menus for these events. She delighted in feeding the birds on her patio and was always enchanted by the hummingbirds who came to drink from her feeder.
A shining star has left us. She will remain in our hearts forever.
