
Born: September 18, 1933 in Premier, BC. Passed away: January 24, 2025.
Doris is survived by her loving family - daughter Dr. Julia Hunter, sons Patrick and James (Jim) Hunter, grandson Zachary, and many dear nieces and nephews. Doris was pre-deceased by her parents William and Isabella Maddison, her husband Dr. Bryant Hunter, her brothers Robert, Arthur, and Lawrence Maddison and sisters-in-law Edith, Alice, and Jennifer.
Doris was a proud graduate of the Royal Columbian Hospital School of Nursing (1955) andthe UBC Public Health Program (1960). She enjoyed hospital and Public Health Nursing Careers before taking time away to raise her family in 1966 and returned to Geriatric Nursing in the 1980s. Doris moved to Tsawwassen with her family in 1967 and enjoyed a long, happy life here. She loved the Tsawwassen community and her home, and maintained a life-long interest in local and global developments. Doris was active in many volunteer programs over the years and supported many charities lifelong.
Special thanks to Dr. Colleen Lee (family physician) and Val, and the many specialists who provided such excellent medical care over the years. Also grateful thanks to friends and neighbours for their generosity and many kindnesses over the years.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will take place at St. David's Anglican Church (1115 - 51A St., Tsawwassen) on Saturday March 15 at 1pm. All are invited to join family members and friends at the service and the reception to follow in the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the BCSPCA or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
