She was born in the province of Negros Occidental in the Philippines and was the eighth child (of 11) of Daniel and Efigenia Agustin. Predeceased by the love of her life, Craig Lum, she was a beloved sister, aunt and good friend to many.
Bing emigrated from the Philippines to Canada in 1960. She worked for many decades as a medical technologist until her retirement from the Royal Columbian Hospital. In 1971, she married Craig Lum, a pharmacist, and they settled in Burnaby, BC. Together they created a warm and welcoming home where they hosted visiting siblings and their families. Introducing their loved ones to Vancouver sights and treating them to the best food in the city was their passion. Because of them, many nieces and nephews and their families settled in the Greater Vancouver area and made it their home.
Bing and Craig enjoyed travelling around the world and were proud to say they had visited all seven continents. They loved to dance and enjoyed sailing on cruises which gave them opportunities to showcase their love for ballroom dancing. They were an impressive couple on the dance floor!
Bing leaves behind a brother and two sisters and numerous nieces and nephews in Canada, the United States, and the Philippines who will greatly miss her loving and generous spirit.
