June 23, 1932 – March 20, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dad, Ennio Quattrociocchi. Funeral services will be held at Oceanview Funeral Home at 10:30 am on Monday April 7, 2025.
Ennio was born in Torrice, Italy on June 23, 1932, and passed away in Vancouver at the Villa Carital nursing home on March 20, 2025, where he lived with our mom, Olimpia.
Dad leaves behind his devoted and loving wife Olimpia, to whom he was married to for almost 70 years, his two children Alberto (Sandra) and Marisa (Luigi) and grandchildren Alyssa, Julia, Joseph and Michael.
As the eldest of 4 children, Ennio is survived by his brother Fernando, and sister Ada who still live mere steps away from where dad was born and lived until he was 30 years old. Dad was raised in a small rural town surrounded with generations of family and friends. Amazingly, the Quattrociocchi’s have been document to have lived in the same Lazio region of central Italy since 1279.
Like so many Italians at the time, our parents made the courageous and emotional decision to immigrate to Canada in 1964. What started out as a plan to come to Canada for just few years to make some money, turned into our home for the past 61 years.
While dad had various jobs, he spent most of his career in construction helping build bridges and buildings. He seemed to know how to build and fix everything; he was passionate about gardening and making his own wine in the basement cantina; and loved driving his 1993 Ford Ranger pickup. Most of all, dad enjoyed our Sunday family dinners, and the fabulous food mom would make for us. We will forever cherish these memories.
Dad was incredibly strong, hardworking, honest, never complained, and was always there to help his family and friends. Our parents, provided us with the love and support to allow us to grow and prosper, always knowing they would be there for us.
Though dad was a man of few words, you knew from his smile how much he loved us. We will never forget those smiles on his face when my sister and I would visit him at Villa Carital, and especially when we brought him raisin bread, his favorite.
While we are heartbroken with his loss and we will miss him dearly, dad will always be in our hearts and memories.
Our family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the nurses and caregivers in the Milan section of the Villa Carital nursing home for their care, kindness and compassion. Knowing he was well taken care of us gave our family great comfort.
