AVIS DE DÉCÈS

Ezzat Ghabrial

7 juillet 1932 – 20 avril 2021
Avis de décès de Ezzat Ghabrial
AUX SOINS DE

Ocean View Funeral Home & Burial Park

Ezzat Ghali Ghabrial, born in Cairo, Egypt, was the youngest of 4 siblings; Wadida, Bishr and Anwar.

He sought out opportunities as a young man by traveling to Stuttgart. There he met Else Stäbler and married. With their 3 year old son, Andreas, they continued this search, taking trains and boats across the Atlantic and Canada to Vancouver where his daughter Sabine was born. Our life in Vancouver began at a house we shared on 13th Avenue with the Abdelmaliks, who became our extended family, along with the Heynemanns, Koch, Lang and Phagura families.

Ezzat devoted his life to his family and community. He proudly worked at Westinghouse and Wismer & Rawlings as an electrician. He loved to entertain and cook for gatherings, often seen preparing platters of quail, basbousa, and tasty Eqyptian dishes. This love to serve extended to all those around him including the German Lutheran and Eqyptian Coptic communities in Vancouver. His energy and generosity touched everyone’s life that intersected his.

Ezzat was a devoted father to Andreas and Sabine, and loving father-in-law to Karen and Tom. He was the proud grandfather of George, Jack, Alex, Else and Tiana and uncle of beloved nieces and nephews in Egypt, New York, Atlanta, Florida, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Germany.

Ezzat was happy and healthy under the care of the amazing staff at Mountain View Manor. Music therapy provided him with comfort in his final days. He died peacefully with Sabine at his bedside.

Ezzat now joins his wife, Else, in heaven, a wish that he shared often. He leaves behind a legacy of a loving husband, devoted father “Baba”, and caring friend.

Thank you for all you have done for us.

We love you like crazy.

In lieu of sending flowers, please grow red geraniums, Ezzat’s favourite flowers, in your own home and enjoy viewing them while listening to music in his honour.

Due to Covid19 restrictions, there will be a private graveside service.
