It is with great sadness that, Fe Flores, has passed on in this World to join her family in heaven and to be with the Lord.
She died with her husband, Simon, at her side along with their son, Monching (Ray Flores). The rest of the family joined to pray for Fe and to reminisce the strength that she had always had during her life here with us. Along with her children's families; she was joined at her side by her nephews and nieces from the Misenas side, Thelma, Jose "Mariboy", Asuncion "Chuchay", and Ramonita "Nita".
Fe was a pioneer in the local Filipino community and was a friend to many. A number of Filipino families can attest their start in Canada with the helping hand of Fe throughout the 40 years she lived in Canada. She was a past President of the first Filipino Association in BC, the FABC, the Circulo Pampangueno, and was active in other numerous organizations.
Fe was a teacher of teachers at Asia’s Oldest University, the University of Santo Tomas (Saint Thomas). She was also a successful business woman when she established what were then the largest department stores in the second largest city of the Philippines, Cebu City. In Canada, at the age of 72 she was Rookie of the Year for Service Corporation International, a North American wide funeral services company who still manage both Ocean View and Forest Lawn Funeral Homes.
Fe to her family was a pillar of strength, was their teacher and a loving mother. To her husband, Simon, Fe was the love of his life of more than 70 years and both of them were a symbol of a long and loving marriage. Fe and Simon’s year’s together is a testament of how to love.
Fe leaves a legacy of three children: Ramon “Monching” (Gina Choy), Josephine "Baby" (Ed Faelnar) and Jose Amor "Boy" (Nina Albuero). She also had six grandchildren: Jose Amor "Jampy" Flores (Heidi Gonzalez), Stefano "Tuffy" Faelnar (Arlene Navo), Trixie Faelnar, Janina "Jampette" Flores, Sean Flores, and Chanel Flores. A further testament to having her family established in Canada is her brood of Canadian great grandchildren: Sydney Flores, Isaiah Flores, Micah Flores, Elyse and August Faelnar.
Fe’s husband, Simon, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren wish to thank Fe’s friends who visited her during her time at Minoru Place. The Flores, Misenas, and Faelnar families wish to thank her doctor, Dr. Jack Kliman, and the nurses and attendants of Minoru Residence who assisted her over the years.
