

She passed away peacefully at home as she wanted on a Sunday morning while sitting at her kitchen table wearing her chef's apron.
Filomena was predeceased by her husband Mike, her son Tony and all her brothers and sisters. She is survived by her sons John (Darleen), Gino and her grandchildren Michael (Paula) and Austin. Born and growing up in Panni, Italy, Filomena made the long trip to North Vancouver with her brother Joe in 1955. Her husband Mike and 3 year old son Tony came the following year. The hopes and dreams of a new life started with a job at St. Alice Hotel. During the early years, hard work and dedication made for a good and prosperous home life. Seventy years in North Vancouver brought many ups and downs and losses but she always moved forward with a positive outlook.
Her home was always a place to meet, eat, laugh, and get some good advice. A great mother and grandmother, She will be missed by her family and many friends she made over the years.
Funeral will be at Ocean View Funeral Home 4000 Imperial St. Burnaby, BC on Monday April 14, 2025 at 1:00 pm. Entombment to follow directly in Ocean View's Abbey Mausoleum.
