Florence passed away peacefully in her Burnaby home of 71 years. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 61 years, John George; her brother Kenneth; sister Dora; and her grandson William. Florence is survived by her daughters Yvonne Finlayson and Marlene (Robb) Marsden; her sons George (Noriko), James (Katherine) and Thomas (Georgette); 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law; along with many nieces and nephews and her good friends, Evon and Shirley. She will be remembered by her family and friends for her serene demeanor, wisdom, confidence, caring, encouraging and understanding ways. She had many hobbies with gardening being front and foremost. The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, on Thursday November 1st, 2012, at The Chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby.
