Mrs. Florence Jacqueline Hudson

Florence Jacqueline (Jay) Hudson, born July 3, 1931, in Regina, Saskatchewan and passed away peacefully on February 24, 2011 with her husband at her side. Predeceased by her parents Jack (1999) and Kathleen (1989), twin sister Kathleen (2003) and nephew Michael Goodfellow (1999). She will be sadly missed by her devoted husband, Bob and children Linda (Terry), Geoffrey, Sherry and Steven. She is also survived by her sister Marilyn (Ron) Goodfellow, niece Kristen (Mike) Grovue and great nephews Arden and Patrick, all of Calgary. Jay moved to Vancouver with her family in 1945. She attended Carleton School, John Oliver H.S. and graduated from UBC with a Bachelor of Home Economics. Prior to her marriage to Robert Hudson in 1959, she taught Home Economics in West Vancouver and Ladysmith. She had a life long interest in Girl Guiding and spent countless hours volunteering with disabled children and travelling the world. She was a gentle and kind person, loving her children, her pets and the birds and squirrels that came to her yard. The family would like to express their deepest thanks to the staff at The Sunrise Seniors Living Home for their care, compassion and support.
