Florindo, who was also known as Lori was born on January 21, 1930, in Rocco San Giovanni, Abruzzo, Italy, immigrating to Canada in 1948. Upon arriving in Canada and filled with nervous uncertainty Lori eventually settled in Vancouver working at various odd jobs. He eventually found his niche where he established a successful concrete placement business specializing in residential builds.
It was from there that his true passion of property ownership and management developed. Through his hard work of maintaining and managing his properties it allowed him to enjoy a comfortable life with his wife Frances who offered major support in the operation of his business. Quick to give advice or a lending hand, Lori was a passionate, fun-loving man. Lori’s interests included gardening, traveling and taking several trips to Italy, Argentina, Brazil with Mexico being his favourite. Ever the gracious host he enjoyed entertaining with family and friends often socializing over a glass of his homemade wine. He especially appreciated spending time with his many nieces and nephews whom he adored and loved like his very own.
Florindo is survived by his loving wife Frances (nee Moretti), his sister Esterina (Orlando) DiCarlo and predeceased by his parents Giovanni and Isolina, his siblings Paolo (Gilda) Caravaggio and Gentilina (Nicola) Staniscia and several beloved nieces and nephews both here in Canada and abroad.
The family kindly asks that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of BC. A special thanks goes out to the staff at Westminster House who looked after his health needs and comforted him over the past few months.
