Giannina was born in Loreggia Padova Italy on March 28, 1939, to parents Gastone Pierobon and Aurelia Marconato. She Passed away peacefully in Vancouver on Jan 9, 2022. She was the first of 4 children Sandra, Francesco, Romeo. In 1965 Giannina married the love of her life Adriano Biron and they soon left for Canada to start a new life and family.
Giannina was creative and resourceful, she studied fashion design in Italy and became a gifted seamstress and dressmaker.
Giannina lived in North Burnaby for 40 years, her best memories were those raising her family, this period in her life reminded her of her youth in Italy and she did what she could to share the same loving environment with her kids. Giannina was a proud volunteer teaching Catechism at Our Lady of Sorrows for 12 Years, helping where she could at the schools her children attended and supporting their local Scouting troop. After the death of her husband in 1993 Giannina took on new challenges. She opened Lunch at Gianna’s in Parkcrest Plaza where she could once again share her love of food and people with the community.
Giannina loved music, especially singing, and was often the first on the floor at weddings dancing tango with her husband. She enjoyed spending time with her neighbours, sewing, gardening and having people come over for dinner, the door of her home was always open with a coffee, a meal and always good conversation. She hosted many students in her home over the years and often received cards and messages from all over the world from this. More than anything though, Giannina loved children, especially her grandchildren, this was the joy of her later years along with long walks and time in the garden.
Giannina will be sadly missed by her children Manuela, Marco (Maria Anna) and Paolo (Melina). Grandchildren Matteo, Daniel, Tomaso, Alessia, Stella and Silvano. She is predeceased by her loving parents Aurelia and Gastone, brother Francesco and husband Adriano.
We hope Giannina will be remembered for her strong work ethic and well worked hands, her honest, compassionate and understanding heart. Her kind, sincere, respectful and independent spirit, and most importantly her reliable, humble and loving nature.
