Giovanna Belmondo

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Giovanna Belmondo, who passed away peacefully in Burnaby, BC, on May 1, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Giovanna was born on June 10, 1955, in Taurianova, Calabria, Italy. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud nonna, sister, aunt, and friend whose warmth, generosity, and unwavering love touched everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Antonio Belmondo; her loving children, Daniela (Kareem) and Nick (Alicia); and her cherished grandchildren, Indiara, Giannaka, Aila, and Naiana, all of whom brought her immense joy and pride.

Giovanna devoted her life to caring for her family and grandchildren, nurturing those around her with endless love, kindness, and her passion for cooking. Her home was always filled with warmth, joy and abundant food for anyone who walked through her doors. Making others feel welcome and cared for was simply her nature.

Though our hearts are broken by her loss, we take comfort in the beautiful memories she leaves behind and the values she passed on to all of us: love of family, generosity, resilience, and kindness. Her spirit will continue to live on in every shared meal, every family gathering, and every moment spent together.

Her love will forever remain in our hearts.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bell & Burnaby Funeral Chapel, 4276 Hastings Street, Burnaby, BC, V5C 2J6.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Helen’s Parish, 3860 Triumph Street, Burnaby, BC.
