Grace Hideko Ito

Our family is deeply saddened to announce that Grace Hideko Ito (nee Kawano) passed away peacefully at the age of 94. She was predeceased in 2013 by Jerry, her beloved husband of 71 years, son Dave in 2006 and brother Melvan in 1983. She is survived by her loving family; daughter Elaine (George) Homma, son Brian (Diane Laliberte), sisters Nellie (late Hideo) Kawahara, Alma (Sub) Miike, sisters-in-law Mieko Kawano and Sue (late Ken) Ito. She will also be missed by her two grandchildren Stephanie (Colin), Mark (Natalie), two great-grandsons Tyson and Nash, nieces, nephews and friends across Canada. Her kindness and devotion generosity and grace, will be cherished by those whose lives she touched. We would like to express our heart felt gratitude for the dedicated and compassionate care provided by Dr. Akira Horii, Dr. Archie Lee Son and Dr. Nick Petropolis, and by the exceptional staff at Nikkei Home and Foyer Maillard in her twilight years. No formal service at her request.
