I met Om Freddy in Indonesia long, long time ago and also in Switzerland, when he visited my parents, later in Vancouver and also in Zurich. I still remember him telling us lots of stories. I met him again last year and he told me about the family and all its relationships. I enjoyed very much to listen to his memories, he was a very bright and lively person. Happy, energetic, lively, joking, smart, intelligent and always heartful. I shall never forget him and his lovely family.
Wishing his family lots of energy and love. Now he will be laughing and joking with my father and mother in heaven. Love Luzi

My father was an incredible, remarkable person and a great father. He was a smart person who was great at his profession in the medical field in Indonesia. When he was in the hospital after his fall & the nursing home, he impressed all the nurses & aid workers by his intelligence. They all began to love him by the day. They all miss him.

He was a very friendly person who avoided conflicts. He was a very trusting person and unfortunately some people took advantage of that with terrible consequences, but he was able to recover quickly.

Although he was far from his relatives in the Netherlands, he was able to visit them once in a while. All his relatives loved him and have high praises for his character.

My father truly cared for his family. He placed the happiness of his family ahead of himself. Also, he made sure a few years before his passing that his eventual funeral and other members of his family would not be a big burden by purchasing a lot for everyone in the family & any services that are related to it.

I became much closer to my father in the last several months before his passing & had many opportunities to spend time with him and caring for him. We had many long serious talks about the future of our family. When he was in the hospital, I & my mother, Joyce never missed one day to visit him. When he finally was admitted to the nursing home, we enjoyed visiting him & always looked forward to do so. I & my mom had always hoped that he would live many more years, but it would be selfish for us knowing that he was suffering from blindness, hard of hearing and old age.

We will remember him & he will always be in our hearts and mind until the end of our time.

We will miss our father forever, but at the same time we realize that he is in a better place in heaven with our Lord. Amen.
