AVIS DE DÉCÈS

Honesto Sotto Dino

7 mai 1928 – 6 mars 2021
Avis de décès de Honesto Sotto Dino
AUX SOINS DE

Ocean View Funeral Home & Burial Park

On March 6th, 2021, Honesto Sotto Dino passed away at the age of 92 from complications of Covid 19.

Known as "Tony" to colleagues and "Pop" to his kids, Honesto was a devoted father and grandfather who was loved by relatives and friends across Canada, the US, and the Philippines.

Throughout his long life, Honesto remained independent, proud, and strong. Well after his retirement, he maintained his equine hobbies, social activities, church duties, and his independent lifestyle, all with the typical humour, optimism, and warmth for which he was known.

Honesto's life was one of loyalty and devotion. For over ten years, he committed himself to caring for his wife at home, after she was incapacitated by a stroke. Later, he ensured that his grandkids' college and university educations were completely paid for. He was also a devoted member of the Catholic Church, both as a member of the Knights of Columbus, and with the Seat of Wisdom Cenacle Marian Movement of Priests.

His family, children, and grandchildren were a great source of joy to him. He will be dearly missed by his sons Val (Laura) and Bill (Jackie), his daughter Grace (John), his granddaughter Heather, and his grandson Mitchell.

He is interred at Oceanview Cemetery in Burnaby, BC, next to his wife Rosie, and his son Victor.

(From Honesto's granddaughter, Heather Dino, Mar. 6/21)

"Today the world lost an amazing man, my Lolo. He was kind, generous, sassy, stubborn and hilarious. His laugh would make anyone smile. He also made himself laugh because he thought his sass and jokes were always so funny.

Lolo was the most active and independent 92 year old. Everyone was always shocked whenever they found out his age because he seemed so much younger. He lived fully on his own, loved taking transit everywhere, and somehow always knew where to find the best deals in town.

Lolo was the first pilot I knew and influenced my own aviation career. He’d tell me all his crazy stories of flying in the Philippines.

You’d always know when he was proud of you when he just laughed and smiled at you. I’m proud he was my Lolo. Rest In Peace ❤️"
