Jane Bo Chun Chu

Jane is survived by her son Mark (Doreen) and her nieces and nephews in the Greater Vancouver Area, the Yukon and Hong Kong. She is preceded in death by her husband Richard, and her siblings Tang Lai Hung, Wu Lai Chun and Yuet Mae Wong.

Jane was born on June 9, 1938 in Hoiping City, Guangdong Province, China to Wai Fong Chow and Fong Shee Chow.

Jane immigrated to Canada in 1955 to reunite with her father and mother in Duncan, British Columbia. She and her mother moved to Vancouver in 1960 to join her sister Mae and Mae’s husband Bob Wong.

She married Richard in 1965. The family owned and operated grocery stores, the main one being Henry’s Foodland on Kingsway in South Burnaby. Richard and Jane owned and operated Henry’s Foodland until their retirement in 1990.

Jane enjoyed a lengthy and full retirement, attending daily exercise groups in Central Park and travelling the world with Richard.

A funeral is scheduled for 1:00 pm Friday, April 12 at Ocean View Funeral Home, with the interment to follow at Ocean View Cemetery. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jane's life. The family would like to thank Dr Davidicus Wong for his care and dedication, and express our deep appreciation for the doctors, nurses and staff at Burnaby Hospital.
