Our father passed away peacefully at the Marion Hospice in Vancouver in the early morning hours of May 19, 2013, with over 20 family members surrounding him during the final hours of his life's journey.
Our father was born in Chao Yang County, Guangdong Province of China. He left for Hong Kong when he was 11 and learned from his uncle the trade in the transportation business. Through hard work and honest business practices, he built his transportation company into a thriving business. He handed it over to his younger son Laurence in 1979 and retired to Vancouver with his wife. Soon, he embraced his new life in Canada with vitality. He set an excellent example for starting a new retirement life in Canada!
He will be remembered as the ever quiet and unassuming gentleman, to family and others. To his grand children, he was the loving and lovely family patriarch, always the encourager in his quiet ways. May father and all beings be reborn to Western Paradise. Namo Amitabha.
