January 1919 ~ March 2011
Betty passed away on March 24 in Surrey Memorial Hospital with family members at her side. Betty was predeceased by her son Gary, her loving husband, Albert, and her two brothers, Chuck and Ernie Wirth. She was survived by her Sister Claire Berrington, Brother-in-law Richard, and many nieces and nephews who loved her very much, and will miss her smile and song. Betty cherished music and it was an important part of her life. During the second world war years, she was an entertainer and a talented musician, and never missed an opportunity to break into song with anyone who would join her. She carried on this love of music into her later years and was a strong voice at the Guilford Seniors Village where she lived just past her 92nd birthday. Betty was a stalwart, 47 year member of the Order of the Royal Purple Lodge. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby, BC on Sunday, April 10th, 2011 at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate that donations be made to BC Children's Hospital on Betty's behalf.
