Mrs. Kwai Chun Wong

Kwai Chun Wong was born in Guangzhou China on August 7, 1931. She was a beloved great grandmother, grandmother, mother and wife during her 91 years. She passed away peacefully in the early hours of Wednesday, January 11, 2023 in Toronto, Ontario.

She grew up in China and left for Hong Kong with her sister, Sin Hung Lau, in the early 1950’s. It was there that she met and married her husband, Sun Kee Wong who pre-deceased her. She is survived by her five children, Grace and her husband Roy; Gloria and her husband Arthur, children Tina (Rick) and Derek (Lorena), grandchildren Olivia, Alex, Owen and Isabella; Glenda; Greg and his wife Sandra; Gane and his wife Lyn, children Maeghan and Kacey; her sister-in-law, Siu Ying Lau as well as many nephews, nieces, grand nephews, grand nieces and great grand nephew.

The family immigrated to Canada in 1967 and settled in Kelowna. They moved to Vancouver in 1972 to provide greater convenience for their children and enable them to attend university. She instilled in her children the importance of a good education and working hard. To her credit, all five of her children graduated from UBC.

Living in Vancouver, she worked for many years at the Koret garment factory to help support her family. She made many lifetime friends at Koret and after her retirement at age 60, she formed an association for retired Koret employees where she was fondly known as their big sister. In retirement she enjoyed travelling with family and friends.

She suffered from a stroke in 2008 after which she moved to Toronto where she was lovingly cared for by her son Greg and his wife Sandra.

We will miss her dearly and are so grateful for the time we were able to spend with her. She will be remembered for her generosity, her big smile, her delicious cooking and her love for Mah Jong. We will always feel her presence in our hearts.

A visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby, British Columbia, V5G 3M1.

The Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at 12:00pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home with the interment taking place in the Forest Lawn Memorial Park at 1:30 pm.

A Reception will take place following the interment on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at 3:00 pm at the Golden Swan Restaurant, 5380 Victoria Drive, Vancouver, British Columbia, V5P 3V7.

⿈桂珍1931年8⽉7⽇出⽣於中國廣州，91歲的她是⼀位慈愛的曾祖⺟、祖⺟、⺟親和妻⼦。 她於

2023 年 1 ⽉ 11 ⽇星期三凌晨在安⼤略省多倫多安詳離世。

她在中國長⼤，並於 1950 年代初與姐姐劉倩紅移居香港。 在那裡，她遇到並嫁給了先於她去世

的丈夫⿈新琪。 她⾝後留下了 5 個孩⼦，家璧和她的丈夫穆富雷； 家華和她的丈夫葉伯雅、孩⼦

Tina (Rick) 和 Derek (Lorena)、孫女Olivia 和 Isabella、孫⼦Alex 和 Owen； 家鴻； 家維和他的

妻⼦寶珠； 家樹 和他的妻⼦ 美蓮、孩⼦ ⼼蓮 和 ⼼琪； 她的弟婦劉笑英以及許多侄⼦，侄女，

侄孫⼦，侄孫女 和曾侄孫⼦。

1967年全家移⺠加拿⼤，定居在基隆拿。 他們於 1972 年搬到溫哥華，為他們的孩⼦提供更⼤的

便利，使他們能夠上⼤學。 她向孩⼦灌輸良好教育和努⼒⼯作的重要性。 值得讚揚的是，她的五

個孩⼦都畢業於 UBC ⼤學。

她住在溫哥華，在 Koret 服裝廠⼯作多年以幫助養家糊⼝。 她在 Koret 結交了許多終⽣朋友，60

歲退休後，她成立了⼀個 Koret 退休員⼯協會，在那裡她被親切地稱為他們的⼤姐姐。 退休後，

她喜歡與家⼈和朋友⼀起旅⾏。

她在 2008 年中風後搬到了多倫多，在那裡她得到兒⼦家維和媳婦寶珠的悉⼼照顧。

我們會非常想念她，並非常感謝我們與她共度的時光。 她的慷慨、燦爛的笑容、美味的廚藝和對

麻將的熱愛將被⼈們銘記。 我們將永遠感受到她在我們⼼中的存在。

探視時間將於 2023 年 1 ⽉ 25 ⽇，星期三，晚上 7:30 ⾄晚上 9:30，地址為不列顛哥倫比亞省伯納

比市皇家橡樹⼤道 3789 號，V5G 3M1，森林草坪殯儀館。

葬禮將於 2023 年 1 ⽉ 26 ⽇，星期四，中午 12 點在森林草坪殯儀館舉⾏，葬禮將於下午 1:30 在

森林草坪紀念公園舉⾏。

安葬後的招待會將於 2023 年 1 月 26 日星期四下午 3 點在 Golden Swan Restaurant, 5380 Victoria Drive, Vancouver, British Columbia, V5P 3V7 舉行。
