Laura Angelina (née Bertucca) Lee

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Laura Lee. She was predeceased by her husband Dick and brother-in-law Terry and is survived by her sisters Erica and Angela (Cosimo) and Dick’s daughters Andrea (Dave) and Tracy (Rob). Remembered lovingly by her granddaughters, Erin and Holly, niece Maija (Ron) and their son Lorenzo, and nephew Dominic (Mariam) and their children Noah and Gigi. Also missing her will be her Saturday night buddy Jane, close friends Janie and Henry and many other extended family and friends in both B.C. and Ontario.

Laura was born and raised in Toronto by her parents Tony and Mary, but the west coast became her home after she married Dick. They had 20 happy years together and had many great holidays and family vacations to Hawaii. Her entertaining skills were legendary, and we will all miss her great cooking. She was fortunate to have her sister Erica come to live with her for the past two years. Erica was both caregiver and companion. It allowed them to have some quality time together which included watching a lot of British TV and completing many jigsaw puzzles!

Special thanks to the staff in the palliative care unit at Burnaby Hospital who treated her with compassion and dignity during her final two weeks. Visitation will be on Wednesday February 23rd from 7 – 9 pm and a chapel service will be held at Ocean View Funeral Home on Thursday February 24th at 10:00 am. If desired, donations can be made to the Burnaby Hospital Foundation or The Arthritis Society.
