Mrs. Lila Sui Gin Hoy

Born in Toisan, Guangdong, China, she was the youngest of 4 children. She arrived in Vancouver, BC at the age of 21 to marry Jimmy Hoy.

She was predeceased by her husband, Jimmy, and her sister Wu (Lim) Rui Ai and brother-in-law Wu Wen Yan of New York and her brother Lim Don Vang of Toisan.

She is survived by her children Muriel (Bill), Gary (Mandy), Nancy (Peter), Norma, Ken; grandchildren Justin, Courtney, Claire and her many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She is also survived by her brother Joetin Lim and sister-in-law Anna Lim of San Francisco.

Lila followed Jimmy to Bonnyville and later Myrnam, both in Alberta, where they operated restaurants. In 1964, they returned to Vancouver where she worked in several sewing factories before having the opportunity to run a successful restaurant in North Vancouver. She worked tirelessly, waiting on tables and putting in long hours six days a week, never once taking a sick day.

In retirement, she developed a passion for gardening, generously sharing her harvest with family, friends and neighbours. True to her heritage, she spent countless hours preparing Chinese delicacies for those she loved. We are now left wondering how we will manage without her nourishing herbal soups.

May you now find peace and comfort in being reunited with your loving husband, Jimmy; your father, mother, brother, sister and brother-in-law.

You will always be in our hearts.

A visitation for Lila will be held Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby, BC V5G3M1. A funeral service will occur Sunday, January 26, 2025 at 1:00 PM, 3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby, BC V5G3M1. A graveside service will occur Sunday, January 26, 2025 at 2:30 PM at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 3789 Royal Oak Ave, Burnaby, BC V5G 4A9.

她身邊。

她出生於中國廣東台山西湖村, 是家中四個孩子中最小的一個，她21歲時來到加拿大溫哥華，

與許郁桃（Jimmy Hoy) 結婚。

她的丈夫許郁桃，姐姐林瑞愛和姐夫吳文彥（美國紐約）以及哥哥林敦旺（中國台山）都已經

去世。

她離世了，她的長女許妙娜（Muriel ）女婿林達榮（Bill) ，長子許仲儒（Gary) 兒媳梁苗

（Mandy），二女許冰娜（Nancy）女婿Peter , 三女許鳳娜（Norma），次子許健儒（Kenny) ,

孫輩林嘉偉（Justin) , 林依褀（Courtney) , 許恩甜（Claire) , 還有許多侄仔侄女 , 外甥和姨甥 ，她

的哥哥林照庭（Joetin）嫂子伍玉芳（Anna）（美國三藩市），大家都為了她的生命而感恩。

Lila和Jimmy 來到溫哥華後，他們一家又來到Alberta省的Bonnyville鎮，後來又去了Myrnam 鎮

，在那裡他們都經營餐館。1964年，他們又回到溫哥華，她開始在幾家制衣廠工作過，後來有機會

在溫哥華北溫成功經營一家餐館，她工作非常努力，每周工作六天，從未請過病假。

退休後，她對園藝產生了濃厚的興趣，种了各种各样的瓜菜和花，慷慨地與家人朋友和鄰居分

享她的收穫，她傳承中國傳統，花了很多時間為她愛的人准備了傳統中國美食，我們回憶她烹飪過

的美食，煲過的靚湯，終生難忘，品嘗到了家的溫暖。

願您現在與您摯愛的丈夫Jimmy ，和您的父親、母親，哥哥，姐姐和姐夫團聚，找到平靜和安

慰。
